UKIP MEP Paul Nuttall has welcomed news that 100,000 people have now signed the People’s Pledge in support of a referendum on UK membership of the European Union.

“It has not taken long for these names to be added, and I am not at all surprised. People are fed up to the back teeth with their day to day lives being dictated by faceless EU bureaucrats.

“Currently 75% of our rules emanate from Brussels and that situation will not get better until we leave the European Union and make our own rules as we always used to,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP Euro-MP for the North West.

“More and more folk are realising that they have been having the wool pulled over their eyes by self-serving and out-of-touch politicians in love with the European Project. The tide is fast changing and I have no doubt that there will be a referendum on our membership and that the majority will vote for us to leave,” he said.
