During a debate (16.3.10) on the shape of the Common Agricultural Policy after 2013, Stuart Agnew MEP
(UKIP - Eastern Counties) bluntly told the European Parliament´s Agriculture & Rural Development Committee some home truths about what needs to be done to ensure that British farmers have a viable future.
Mr Agnew said: “The partial repatriation of payments will be a disaster if the British government of the day uses this as an excuse to disadvantage farmers by not giving them the money - or using it as an excuse to cut other support.”
“Unproven global warming theories must not be incorporated into the red tape of agricultural support measures.”
