UKIP gaining momentum, polling at 8%

Latest poll figures in the Mail on Sunday that put UKIP at over 8% following a fortnight in which a rash of leading political figures have joined the party shows that political momentum lies with us, said UKIP deputy leader Paul Nuttall MEP.

“People are beginning to realise that there is another choice in British politics beyond the tired old three parties of discredited government.

“On issue after issue, whether it be tax, education or a simple belief that we are better qualified to live our own lives rather than have the arrogant elite decide for us, people are realising that it is UKIP that best speaks for them,” said Mr Nuttall.

“We see a government that is prepared to spend an extra £1.8 billion on their European adventure, whilst stripping pensioners of their dignity and their finances. We see a coalition that is happy to tax the entrepreneurs who create jobs, and at the same time tax those on minimum wage which just cannot make sense.

“These new figures underline a new reality in British politics, a reality that will be highlighted in Bradford by election this week. There are four parties and only one of them, UKIP, is on the up. The stale consensus has had its day,” said Mr Nuttall.
