http://owsblog.blogspot.com/2011/12/obvious-outcome.htmlThe Eurosceptic think-tank Global Britain has found that over the past six years just 0.04 per cent of coverage on Radio 4’s Today programme was devoted to the potential benefits of withdrawing from the EU.

UKIP MEP Paul Nuttall has welcomed admissions by the BBC that it has pocketed almost £3million in EU grants since 2007.

“UKIP has long known that the Corporation was getting money from Brussels and it is good that it has now been forced into admitting the scale of this disgrace,” said Mr Nuttall, North West Euro-MP.

Details emerged following a Parliamentary Question by MP Karl McCartney and the BBC has also revealed its commercial arm BBC Worldwide has borrowed more than £141million from the European Investment Bank since 2003 – and £30million is still due to be repaid by the end of May this year.

“The old joke that the BBC is the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation may be true after all,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP’s deputy leader.

How on earth can it show genuine impartiality on European matters while in receipt of EU funds? Everyone knows you don’t bite the hand that feeds you,” he said
