•Speaking during the debate on Croatia's accession treaty in Brussels, today, UKIP Leader Nigel Farage said if Croatia votes to join the European Union it would be renouncing 20 years of hard fought independence to rejoin another Yugoslavia in the making.
"This country has for nearly a thousand years sought independence, and for 20 years they've had independence - they got out of the failed political experiment that was Yugoslavia - and if they vote to join the European Union, they're voting to rejoin a new Yugoslavia, a failing political experiment that will implode," Mr Farage said.
Having visited Croatia last September to check on whether there was a fair campaign and a proper national debate, Mr Farage said:
"I found that the EU is doing everything it can to bribe the poitical class in Croatia. Already the EU has given 320 million euros to Croatia in what is called pre-accession aid."
"The EU has just spent a million euros on a blatant propaganda advertising campaign, telling Croatia that the EU is their only hope," he said.
"Cleverly, you've even given jobs to Croatians - highly paid jobs to Croatians in the European Parliament and in the European Commission just to show them how well off they'll be - the ruling class will be - if they join, and you've got EU flags flying on official buildings all over the country to give the impression that it's a done deal.
"You've got some willing helpers, because the old Communists are still there in Croatia, they still hold all the positions of power and they will all become personally enormously wealthy if Croatia joins the European Union.
"And there is an even more sinister side to this, because there is not a free press in Croatia. There is no national debate going on at all. Indeed a prize has been offered - 10,000 kunas have been offered if anybody can find an article in any Croatian newspaper suggesting that joining isn't the right thing to do.
"The whole campaign is bent, corrupt and distorted. We've seen this before from the European Union, but I think it's happening on a scale in Croatia that is worse than I've seen before.

This Nation really figths struggle for independence,sovereignty,territorial as well as financially for nearly millennium...we lost the kingdom,the nobility, and when we briefly raised the head above that polluted pond water,our internal traitors,greedy corrupted scrap,communist successors and sworn Yugo-nostalgic swarming reptiles are trying again to draw us in some new association in which we could get stuck for a very long time, and at the same time we can lose all the natural strategic resources at our disposal...
I am the son of one of the Croatian warriors for freedom, I am highly educated with a bitter experience of experience of trying to fight for a better Croatia through the existing political parties in Croatia whose programs of work trying to carve out well-being in every sense of my people,while preserving the independence,but all these parties have proved to be incompetent,weak and corrupted.
Currently the Croats are just on the edge of the general elections for parliament and the ruling elite,as same and the opposition(socijalists-ex-communists etc.) have clearly not-shown us any program of action for the coming term,where we expect a referendum on joining the EU,and the likely entry into the EU which was never supported by certain voices from the people of the elementary irregularities in the votting process since the last census from 2011. is for about nearly 300 000 people less than the number of the 'registrated' voters in Croatia.
It is indeed highly dangerous and manipulative number in many ways especially in the case of the elections for the parliament,and then immediately afterwards there was probably agreed upon the ability to manipulate the votes in a referendum on accession to the EU...
So it is probably too late for any specific action with regard to the forthcoming elections, but certainly we need any help in the fight for the retention of Croatian independence,following the model of your struggles. Croatia is a badly needed new political force that would lead a young, ethnically conscious,competent,educated and not
corrupted people,and there is a sufficient number of us,but we are blocked in many ways of possible political action by the ones you mentioned in your
speech to the EU parliament... !!!help us!!!...
for several days Croatian Prime Minister will sign an accession treaty and then we in Croatia will face a referendum....And we know that there is something agreed with Slovenia regarding to unblocking the Croatian accession negotiations,but we do not know whether and how much of our Sea and Territory
is sold for the price of entry into the EU, and my father also bled in the last war for our sea and territory.
btw. You are absolutely right when You say that they have a plan, and that they are dangerous pelople, well they are very dangeorous...so encourage US and many others in as many countries as You can, so to engage the nations to start
think of the importance of the independence...together we can do much!we can brake the media silence and we can brought out our voice.
