A new YouGov poll shows a clear majority of British people would choose to leave the European Union in a referendum.
With 47% of people polled saying they would vote for Britain to leave the European Union, the emphatic result has been welcomed by UKIP.
Party Chairman Paul Nuttall said: "These poll results just tell us what anybody with eyes to see or ears to hear has known for ages – the people want out of the EU.
"Britain needs a referendum on continued EU membership. Not some makeweight promise from the Government.
"The fact that in every part of the country there is a majority for leaving says it all."
